Jamie's Italian

On reading the above comment (and several other on various sites) I decided I would also leave my two pence worth.

I have been to Jamies italian on numerous occasions and each one I has been without a doubt ten times more impressive than any other restaurant in cardiff. The food is absolutely outstanding (baked mushrooms and the lamb lollipops being my personal favourites) and the staff are absolutely fabulous. I, personally have never been in a restaurant where each and every one off the staff are smiley and actually look happy to be at work?! I thought it really added to the great informal, friendly athmosphere.

In the few time I have eaten at Jamies I have grilled the waitress's about the food, the origin and the freshness and how it is cooked and its clear that they are very highly trained and can answer nearly any question...im sure it natural for not everybody to know every little thing about each dish (re. above and the starter). The food is extremely reasonably priced considering it origins and th high quality. Yes, if you want to 'wander in for a cheaper relaxed meal' (again re. above) somewhere else, i.e. pizza express, wetherspoons its very true there are 101 other places but i dont believe anywhere else you would get the same high quality food at such good prices- bearng in mind these are real authentic family italian companies rather than cash and carry frozen food!

Anyway, as i have said I have repeatedly been back to Jamies and I would like to stick up for what is my favourite Cardiff restaurant, and as far as I can see, after 5 months of opening there is STILL a queue and having enquired to one of the host's many ar elike me and are regulars so yes (re. above) after the hype of Jamie OLiver people still believe in the great restaurant.

I think the negative press is people entering with such high expectations of a Celebrity chef fine dining faultless restaurant and thats not what this is meant to be about- its rustic and friendly and Jamie all over.I cant help feeling that people only bother to comment on the negative things!

So, Jamies im sticking up for you- you deserve it! keep up the great work and il spread the word!!
