Harry Ramsden's Restaurant & Takeaway review by Peter Green
I visited the Cardiff restaurant with my son on Monday 31st March 2008, during a visit to the city.
My son had an interview at Cardiff University and had he not been with me, I would have made several complaints, as follows;
There were NO MUSHY PEAS available! So I ordered garden peas.
The cup for my tea was dirty, in that I had to remove the 'tide mark' from the inside rim with a napkin.
We had to wait a good 15 minutes for our order, despite there being no more than 10-15 people in the restaurant.
When our order arrived, the waiter had forgotten the peas. This took a further 5 minutes as I had to remind him a second time.
By this time the food on my (cold) plate was itself cold.
The chips were NOT fresh and had the texture and taste of chips that had been re-heated from a previous fry.
The bread and butter had a taste of garlic!
All in all - NOT a good experience and I begrudged the £20.23 payment for the meal.
As stated earlier, if my son had not been with me in his pre-interview nervous state, I would have complained bitterly and demanded a replacement meal or probably a full refund.
I have visited Harry Ramsden's in Salford/Manchester many times and have eaten at the Guiseley before franchising came in. I have never had a bad meal from this company - UNTIL LAST MONDAY.
