The previous reviewer is a little confused. The New Conway is pretty far from a being just a corner pub. The food is always first class, imaginative and served in a polite and unfussy way.

Goodness me it's just a corner local pub. The bar prices are extortionate. The food is average, why are the plates always cold ?
The owners should maybe get a reality check and remember it's a local boozer and not the Hilton. (The lager is cheaper in the Hilton).

The pub for me was far better, the food was better! the atmosphere was better I generally liked the pub, the restaurants new family feel is really not well suited! I had fish and chips a great British favourite the fish was cold inside the batter, the chips were as white as they were in the freezer and well if you could call this tartar sauce! It was horrible meal, well presented though but not good enough I'm sure if it has this family restaurant theme the menu needs to be better! "credit crunch lunch" you're having a laugh I bet! 2 course meal £10 go to cosmos 3 course buffet meal with a wonderful range of oriental food if your looking for quality nearby go to cibo's, diner 77 or cafe brava or on romilly crescent le gallois or stefano's now they're quality!

I Went to the New Conway last night for the first time. I hadn't been to the old Conway.
The interior is clean and modern with some nice older touches. The art work on the walls and the book shelves.
The staff were amazing, happy to discuss the pub, beers they served and the food and came across as being very knowledgable.
I had the Boston beans with Pork Belly and had no idea what to expect from it. What I got was close to perfection. Really tasty beans with shredded meat, accompanied by garlic toast that sent my taste buds wild. The block of pork belly went from VERY crispy crackling to the softest juiciest pork and on to a layer a beautiful soft salty fat.
I just about managed to share some warm spiced jamaican cake with cream and toffee, which was presented beautifully and tasted delicious.
After settling up (You can keep a tab open so you dont have to keep putting your card number into the machine) and another chat with the barman we left a packed pub. I just wish I could have stayed for the quiz.
I'll definately be going back and I am trying to think of people I havent yet recommended it to.
