This has got to be the best in town. The short menu managed to included so many interesting and enticing dishes I will have to go back again, again and again. Ethically sourced food (diver collected scallops, salt marsh lamb etc), cooked in an Italian style.

Service is friendly without being too friendly and the cost is what you would expect for food this good.

Simply great!

I've been recommended by a friend who works in cardiff market. He has never been there but he told me that one guy from casanova is in the market every day and everyone know him. So i thought i give it a go, at least food is fresh!

Wow....Italian food at its best. This restaurant really deserve the title of best italian restaurant in cardiff. Bruschetta with beetroot, goat cheese and white truffle oil to die for.

The smell of white truffle was amazing,I never experienced anything like that before!

My main was pasta with king prawns and squid with cherry tomatoes and chilli. It was really really good!

A nice glass of prosecco( £3.50 the same in Jamies Italian cost £6.50) with my starter and a very refreshing tuscan white and the bill was £27. I think this restaurant is special because they put big effort in "little" touches like basket of bread free of charge, different shapes of pastas( that means they don't buy from super-big suppliers like all the others); white truffle oil; different wine list ( no boring frascati or valpolicella or montepulciano d'abbruzzo)

Well....i tell you what: give it a go; you'll be surprised how good they are

Dear oh dear, what has happened to this restaurant? We went last night after a gap of a year and were really disappointed. Maybe it was a mistake to go during the Christmas party season or just the impact of the recession but the quality of food had really deteriorated.

Firstly, and rather strangely, even though this is an Italian resaurant one of the starters featured fois gras and one of the puddings was creme brulee. Anyway, the fois gras starter was a bad joke: a smear of tasteless FG, on half a mushroom, yes, half a mushroom and a bit of dried out panatone. My parter had the beetroot salad starter and he said it was out of a jar. The rest of the meal was ok (though the main course risotto seemed at least a third smaller than we had on our previous visit) but wasn't worth £25 by any stretch. A big dissapointment and we won't be going back.

Took my wife there for lunch few weeks ago and the food was outstanding. Fresh tomatoes and mozzarella to start topped with proper extravirgin olive oil (you can tell by the smell and the spicy finish) and leg of duck, so tender you won't believe, served with roast potatoes, peppers and aubergines! The service was great as well, no even need to ask for a basket of bread cause they brought it anyway(with no extra charge!!!!!!).

Sitting next to me was David Pickering....say no more?!(The equivalent of God in rugby). Wow thats why i love this place, the most important people in town sitting next to me eating the same food. Superb!!!

As that wasn't alredy enough,my wife nearly fainted when Micheal Sheen( and not just a cardiff football player all muscles and cash and no brain) came down from the upstairs floor. I mean Micheal Sheen you know.... "DAVID FROST" in Frost/Nixon film, nominated for an Oscar, or "Tony Blair" in The Queen. Well, if he left saying thank you for the food it was outstanding...I guess we were in the right place!!! What a day Thank you!
