Demiro's

After our visit to Demiro's at Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay we felt we had to write a review! We were so impressed by the food, service, atmosphere, friendliness and comfort of the restaurant.
The waiters were first class and entertainment while we ate our meal was delightful. The food was delicious and the service was second to none.
We thought that we would get stung by the price at the end of the night -buit the cost was quite reasonable for the restaurant.
We will definitely go back there and very soon!!

On the 2nd Oct we had lunch at Demiros', the food & service was great but the highlight of our visit was the singing! Lucas made our day, thank you - we certainly hope to return soon.

Whilst visiting cardiff bay for a recent event we were lucky enough to go into demiros. The atmosphere was fantastic fun and service and food excellent. Even better we able to sit outside and watch the evening parade from the restaurant. I especially enjoyed the wide variety of choice and cuisine, Thankyou for a sublime evening.

I've been coming here for a few months now and I've always been treated very well by the staff who are wonderful, the food has always been of a high quality regardless of what I order and there is a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend this to anyone and already have.

My wife and I visited Demiros, before taking our seats at the Millennium Centre, on Thursday 15th April 2010. We can't speak highly enough of our experience. It was the perfect venue for a pre-concert meal.
The food was first class; the staff, polite and attentive; the price, more than reasonable (£62 for two - starters, main, pudding, bottle of house red, followed by coffees - to which we added a 15% tip - a measure of our satisfaction).
A young baritone (a member of the WNO) sang several well-known arias - LIVE - not as was suggested by the another wannabe restaurant critic (see 6th March 2010). He had a fine voice and personality, to match.
The restaurant was packed. And, as far as I could detect, everyone had just the best time. We will definitely return. I wholeheartedly recommend you give it a try.

We went to Demirios last night (6 march 2010) for the first time and i have to say I wont be returning, The table was booked for 9pm, after being forced to wait half an hour, with waiters and other staff running around like headless chickens we complained enough to have a free round of drinks. after about 45 mins we were seated, it took another 20 mins before we were 'served'. The starters weren't served together so 4 of the party of 8 had finished theirs before the remainders of the starters turned up. the food was actually ok, not brilliant, but nice enough, although slightly on the expensive side i think. after complaining again about the starters the main courses did turn up together. I also need to say that this is a very loud and rowdy place more suited to hen and stag parties than a romantic night out or a family meal. if there is a birthday one of the waiters plays happy birthday on a trumpet and one of the waiters (or maybe owner) struts around singing / miming so conversation is pretty impossible. I was litterally shouting when trying to speak to my partner who was sat opposite me. I have to agree that the waiters are quite rude, there are one or two who try hard but most of them dont speak to you, if you ask them something, they look at you and then huff and puff and just walk off. very odd indeed. final point was it took 4 attempts to get the bill right. we were overcharged £73, mainly being bottles of wine which we did not have. Maybe this is a good place on a weeknight or maybe only for those too tanked up to register the noise, poor service and check the bill on the weekend...... Demirios was not for me.

My Wife, Son and I went to Demiros on Sunday the 23rd of August as it was recommended by staff at the Dr Who Exhibition - - This place is worse than awful - rude staff - no service - when a waiter eventually arrived 20 mins after we where shown to the table I explained that we would order food after we had ordered drinks he stormed off muttering something and never came back - after complaining to the first water he muttered something about being very busy - busy my backside the place was half empty with waiters running around like busy fools - I cannot comment on the food as we did not get any and we left 30mins after we arrived ? Stay away

Demiro's served the largest king prawns that either of us have ever seen!
The staff were great and the restaurant had a very friendly atmosphere - all the children dining there were given small balloon animals.
The servings were the perfect size leaving enough room to savour a dessert.
The cheese platter is recommended- it offers a few of the wonderful cheeses from the region.
The entertainment was a bit loud, but we were sitting directly under a speaker - so it could have been ok in other parts of the restaurant.
