Seren Restaurant
your comments review this restaurant
My partner once took me to this restaurant and now each time he asks me where I want to go for special occassions I always ask to return to Seren. The food is always fabulous and great value, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is spot on.
If asked to recommend any restaurant in Cardiff, Seren would be it. My partner and I will continue to frequent this little gem of a restaurant.

When I think about Cardiff this is one of the first things that comes to mind. It is my favourite restaurant in the whole city because not only is the food to die for but the owner always comes over to greet me straight away when I walk in (even though I am not a regular customer as I no longer live in Cardiff), the service is impecible, it is very cosy and family oriented and is fairly quiet, so you don't have to shout across the table!
There is a lot of lamb and chicken on the menu, which are my favourite dishes, and I also love the cold mixed mezze & Kizartma (which I saw a previous review also commented on!). No matter how much (or little!) I order, I have never yet been able to finish everything, as they are such generous portions.
Need any more persuasion to visit?? Oh, and there is an upstairs room that is available to book for large functions (as far as I am aware).

We have been going to Seren since it opened, sometimes twice a week. Calm and relaxed atmosphere. The meals are consistently delicious, fresh ingredients, and well presented. The bread is to die for, the lamb melts in your mouth. Particular favorites the liver, Kizartma (vegetarian dish of aubergine, tomato, potato and yoghurt), humus, Mucva (grated courgette omelette with dill). Try the stews for something hearty. Cold rice pudding or apricots in a sauce to finish. The wine is good, the service impeccable and Cem the owner is warm and attentive. All this at a very reasonable price. Never get tired of going.

Had a rather nice dinner here last Saturday. The place is very good value and the staff very friendly. However, I feel that the quality of the food is a bit hit and miss.
We had a great couple of starters: haloumi cheese and a veggie main course of fried onion with pomegrante sauce. Both v good.
Then I had chicken that had been marinated and I tihnk grilled. It was really good quality meat and v tasty. However the salad it came with was just dissapointing lettuce, cucumnber and tomato. And I also had a dollop of what tasted like pickled cabbage. Now I don't pretend to know much about Turkish cuisine but this just seemed a bit of let down.
This was our second visit here. Last time I had a lamb dish. Again fabulous lamb, obviously good quality meat but again a boring salad.
