Seren Restaurant

I have eaten at Seren on at least a dozen occasions and never been disappointed. Thats why I go back. The lamb dishes are delicious. In my experience the staff are helpful and friendly.

Me and my partner have just returned from dining at this restaurant for the first time this evening, unfortunately we have very little positive to write about the experience.

The restaurant is on the small side, decor wise its ok but certainly nothing special.

We both order the Sucuk which is supposedly spicy sausage... there was nothing spicy about it at all...

For mains i ordered Chicken Kofte - I have to say it was disgusting.. soggy flat meatballs is the only way i can describe it... Im convinced there was chicken in it as what odd taste they did have was much more on the lamb side..

My partner ordered Choban Kavurma, which turned out to be a very bland lamb stew with rice..

Over all food is very bland, service was fine.

A warning to all.. if like me and you hate lamb do not go here.. othr than 2/3 chicken (supposedly) dishes all the rest are lamb (with exception to the fish mains).

We will not be returning. There are some fantastic restaurants in Cardiff which we have discovered.. this is definitely not one of them.

I hope this comes across as a more tempered view than some here. But Seren is simply an OK Turkish Restaurant. It's not cheap and it doesn't excel in any of the categories on this website. There appear to be many loyal locals but perhaps they should get out more and see what other restaurants CAN do.

The single waitress had to greet guests, make coffee and drinks and bring the food from the kitchen. The place was so cold we all kept our hats and coats on. Inevitably the waitress forgot our bread and drinks (twice). She also left us twice while we were in the process of ordering to attend to more important things ! Don't get me wrong she was nice and was doing her best.

Starters were nice but some were a little bland. All main courses were good but certainly not exceptional.

We couldn't stand the cold and so we did not have desert !

The food is authentic but pricey and there is much better than this even in Cardiff.

Had a fantastic meal for two on Sat 6th. The food was outstanding with large portions and good service from the staff. The choice and quality of the food was very impressive with a good clear menu. The price was very resonable with wine and drinks £60 for two couses. Overall an excellent meal and great service, highly recommended

My boyfriend and I went last saturday night for his birthday. the food was stunning and the service was impeccable. they even let me bring his cake, and sang happy birthday to him. it was a really enjoyable night. would definatly reccommend, and will be returning.

We had a really lovely meal here recently (our 2nd visit). Not only was the food tasty but was really good value- out meal of 2 starters, 2 mains, 3 beers and 2 turkish coffees came to £40. The staff are also friendly and and give just you just the right amount of attention! Highly recommended
