Visited this place after a 200 mile drive to our dear friends in Penarth and this was supposed to be our treat to the best place in town.

Our friends are just the best people you could have with no malice for anybody but Gareths wife was reduced to tears with the noise over dinner from some oiks in the bar and then joining the table next to ours.

The manager could not have cared less or did the owner who laughed at us at £150.

This place is beyong appalling. We went on New Year's Eve, the food was unbelievably overpriced for the poor quality. We were rushed to our table and told several times that we had to be off it quickly for another sitting which were coming in! The staff were rude and unhelpful. Our starters were cold, but we didn't complain hoping for a better main course. 3 of us had steak for our mains, which were rare, not medium rare as asked for, we were prepared to overlook this until halfway in, two of us discovered they were pure fat and the rest was totally inedible. When we complained (the first time I have ever done so in my years of eating out!) we were argued with, there were no apologies. the manager then insisted on going and getting our steaks from out of the bin and bringing them back to us to continue arguing that there was nothing wrong!!!! So unprofessional.

We went Sunday for lunch. I took my 2 year old but alas no high-chair despite that when I booked the table for 4 I mentioned that the 4th member of our party was age 2.

If they had mentioned that there was no chair I could have brought my portable one.

Also no changing facility so I had to lie my baby on the floor in a toilet to change him which shoked a few of the other ladies in the WC saying that it was awful that I had to get on my knees to change him and he was on a cold hard and dirty floor.

when I asked about both these issues I was told that the manager/owner isn't too fond of children and therefore doesn't want to encourage customers to bring them out for Sunday lunch so he doesn't provide anything for the parents as this may be seen as encouragement.

Meal was very nice, the pudding I ordered never came and another tables drinks were added to our bill which they amended but I won't go back.

I prefer to go somewhere on a Sunday that my whole family is welcome to go to, incidentally my 2 year old is a gem to have in a restaurant and isn't a fusspot. We have dines in some of the best restaurants in London, Newport and Cardiff with him with no trouble.

Not having a high-chair made it imposable for me to fully relax and enjoy my own meal despite the fact that it tasted nice it wan't worth the bother!

Food fabulous but service terrible! Saturday night we waited 40 minutes past our table time to be seated, another 20 minutes to order a drink and had to constantly attract waiting staff attention rather than them come to us. Final straw was asking for the bill from two waiters over a 40 minute period. We had to go to the till and demand to pay otherwise we may still be there! Not a venue if you value service.
