me and my husband have been going to the Italian way for over 7 years and always have a great meal. No other Italian restaurant can come close to the high standers you get at Italian way.Their calzonies are much better then what we had in Italy. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are very friendly. The fact you can bring your own wine also makes your night a lot cheeper .

I have been dining at the Italian Way for 12 years and absolutley love it! The menu consists mainly of pasta dishes and pizza all of which are great and really good value for money. I holiday in Italy twice a year and have done so for 8 years the food at the Italian Way is authentic and the same as a pizzeria in Italy, which is more than can be said for other Italian restaurants which in my opinion have become to 'Britishized' and no more than theme restaurants. I am very surprised to see some negative comments on the Italain Way especially that the food is basic, Italian food is not elaborate like French food for example, it is rustic and basic-this is the charm! If you require traditional Italian food this is where to go.

The restaurant was busy and obviously popular with a nice atmosphere. The BYO wine was also a hit. The food was pleasant but basic, nothing that you couldnt easily do at home. Im not overly convinced they even made their own pasta, not that it was advertised as such, but a minimum for an 'authentic Italian' in my book.

Overall i coulnt reccomend The Italian Way over other more accomplished italians in Cardiff becasue of its lack of flair, but if you are after a basic italian with no washing up at a reasonable price then it may be worth a visit.

Can't disagree more. We love this family run restaurant for its charming staff and wonderful warm and cosy atmosphere. The food is absolutely great and all home made in an open kitchen - pizzas are sublime.. We use it with clients for work, our book club meets there once a month and it's the best venue for a night out with friends in the city. Its bring your own wine too so its a great value evening out as you can arrive armed andd deadly with champagne and wines which the staff happily open and keep chilled for you. How disappointing to read such a poor review - we eat in restaurants all over the world and while the Italian Way is not glamorous or trying to be fine dining, it is without a doubt, one of the most charming and traditional Itaian restaurants of its kind. As well as families, groups of friends and romatic couples, it also a huge and loyal following of people working in the capital's media and if you ask around, you'll be sure to hear very good things about the Italian Way. (While loos share a washbasin, they are separate cubicles for men and women)

went to this restaurant for a 30th birthday and found the meals to be understandard, the wait was long and meals were given to the wrong people.the waiter was quite rude and there was no organisation atal.the male and female dinners had to use the same toilets so there was no privecy on the whole if u want to eat italian choose a different restaurant.
