Indo Cymru Restaurant

As a visitor to Cardiff I have eaten at the Indo Cymru three times in the last two years, as part of an informal group of friends from across England and Wales, who go to the Mardi Gras and then have a meal immediately afterwards.

The food is excellent value and I have always been happy with my choice from the menu. My friend who is vegetarian has, likewise, always found something interesting on the menu. Unlike the other reviewer I cannot fault the service (and I know the difference between good and bad service). The manager and the waiter were attentive but not to such an extent that either of them became obsequious.

As someone who likes a lager with a curry, I noticed there were three Indian/Bangladeshi bottled lagers and also a well known keg lager, the latter at the pub price.

The Indo Cymru is apparently one of the oldest Indian restaurants in Cardiff. Cowbridge Road East is not the poshest part of Cardiff but this is not noticeable once you are through the door. The fact the restaurant is still going strong, suggests its proprietors are pleasing enough people enough of the time with a comfortable margin besides. I would go back any time I'm in Cardiff.

I have been going ( with the family ) to the Indo for more than 20 years for sit down and take away food, always get a welcome and ,always get efficient service and don't feel I am pressured to leave, doggy tins provided, when you ask if you can't finish your meal.

I am vegetarian so can only vouch for the veggie selection which is a wide range and always in more than sufficient quantity and it's always delicious food made from high quality ingredients.

Well recomended and good value.

After being to the likes of The Eurasion the Indo Cymru doesnt compare ~ the staff were disinterested, abrupt and verging on rude! No please or thank you from the staff and they wouldnt even make eye contact when taking my order.

No friendly smiles and they seemed intent on getting us in and out of there as soon as possible.

Food was nice but price and quality didnt compare with other Indian Restaurants in Canton.

With bad service like that I wont be going back there again.

It was a delight to have such an amazing time at the Indo Cymru.

I thought that the food quality and flavour was excellent and the staff were outstanding!

I will be sure to visit the eatery again and very soon!
