El Puerto

Went to El Puerto last night for my 40th with my partner and parents. I found the service almost non existant and ordering was not explained to us until after sitting looking stupid for what seemed like hours we went to the front desk and asked! We had arrived at 7pm as this is when they opened and on reaching the front of the queue were dismayed to be informed that the fish dishes we selected were sold out, which seemed hard to believe as they had only just opened. The meals themselves were exellent and well presented although my father did complain because his fish was over cooked, all the waitress did was say she'd pass the comment on to the chef!! The ambience was nice although it could have been a little bit brighter as the lighting was so low. So in a nut shell the food was good but the service was poor for the price you are paying.

Went to El Puerto's on Fri 10 June 2005 had heard that it was absolutely fantastic. I did enjoy the meal a bit pricey for what it was! But was absolutely astonised that there is not a no smoking area where food is concerned. This will stop me from returning as found this very uncomfortable while eating my food. Disgusting!
