Cardamom Restaurant & Takeaway

Over-rated, the atmosphere is rubbish..crammed in tables, miserable waiters, and bland interior. The food is not bad...but the curry I had was pretty bland and had a texture like baby food. I have had much better curry. Would'nt go again.

We eat regularly at the Cardamom not only in the restaurant but also for takeaways. The food has always been excellent, and the staff friendly. Service can be slow but the food is well worth waiting for. So much so that when you eat here you will never want to eat Indian food from anywhere else

If you book to eat here you should ensure that they are not catering for large parties the day/night of your visit.

We booked a table for 7 people 3 weeks in advance of our visit and on the night we were ushered to a table clearly for 6 right by the door with the advice that one could squeeze themselves in, by the door. ( yes it was cold night) Finally after realising that we would not accept this, a table was found but the service was not the best Some starters were barly warm, main coure's incorrect ( if they appeared at all. But the best had to be the waiters words of "you finished" and removing plates while spilling food, not even an offer of a desert menu (though we would of declined after what we had expercience so far). This was all down to the fact they had booked to many people in. You could easily tell that they simply couldn't cope as they had quite a few group bookings. I was expecting a good meal and a nice evening as I had read reviews that seemed excellent, only to be throughly disappointed. This is one place i would not recommend to anyone

We visit this restaurant on a regular weekly basis, we love the decor and the food is fantastic, a restaurant with an excellent selection of dishes, some we have not found in other restaurants, the salmon tikka and tandori lamb chops are to die for!

The manager always gives his customers the very best of welcomes and when possible puts himself out to chat and ensure all his customers are satisfied, his staff are also extremely friendly and helpful, we have seen this restaurant become very busy even on quieter nights in the week which shows their customers are returning and enjoying good food in excellent surroundings

try this restaurant you will not be dissapointed.
